At Olé Macramé, we strive to use materials which are high quality, eco-friendly and sustainable. We are constantly on the lookout for suppliers who share the same values. We believe in the slow fashion movement, in giving value to recycled and upcycled items and in ethical employment.
Most of our products are currently made using 100% recycled cotton which is OEKO-TEX certified. OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 guarantees that the tested and certified yarn does not contain any harmful substances that are a danger to human health and environment. The inner spool is made of recycled paper and is biodegradable.
The metal parts of our jewellery vary from item to item (details can be found on the item page). We strive to use nickel free metal and hypoallergenic materials wherever possible.
Each pair of earrings is lovingly handmade and therefore, completely unique. There will be a slight variance in size, shape and sometimes even colour from item to item. Rather than being a defect of the product, this is a charming characteristic of genuinely, handmade items.
Product Care
We believe in slow fashion and we want you to enjoy your Olé Macrame piece for many years to come. In order for this to happen, care must be taken to maintain the shape and colour of the product. It is recommended that jewellery is stored flat and individually. Any fringes can be maintained by brushing with a fine tooth comb, any loose threads after brushing may be trimmed with a sharp pair of scissors.
Avoid extreme humidity and remove jewellery while in water. Avoid spraying perfume or applying creams where your jewellery will have contact.
In the case of wall hangings and plant hangers, avoid very humid areas. Brush fringes and tassels with a fine tooth comb. Wipe clean with a damp, lint free cloth or vacuum on a very gentle setting.
